Artifact Care

CARING FOR STERLING SILVER

To clean your sterling silver jewelry, use a simple polishing or microfiber cloth and gently remove any residue. Since silver is a soft metal, avoid vigorous rubbing to prevent scratches.

For blackened pieces, gently dab the surface with a dry cloth if cleaning is necessary. Do not wipe the surface as this might cause the black patina to be removed and keep away from water and detergents. If you want to maintain the blackened appearance, use 'liver of sulfur' to re-blacken it accordingly.

Remember that as silver jewelry are worn they become polished to a beautiful finish as they rub against our skin. Any light marks or scratches that might naturally appear, only add to the character of the piece and make it more personal.

Having said that, keep in mind that sterling silver is soft and should be handled with care, avoiding heavy lifting or labor while wearing it.

CARING FOR GOLD

Gold doesn’t tarnish, but it can accumulate oils from your skin, lotion, or makeup. Many products are available for cleaning gold, but a simple method involves mild detergent and a soft cloth.

Mix mild dish detergent with warm water in a bowl, soak the gold item for a few minutes, and gently scrub with a soft toothbrush. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft polishing cloth.

CARING FOR METAL DICE

Our hollow metal dice are crafted from high-quality recycled bronze and as such are highly durable. However, to ensure their longevity, avoid rolling them on hard surfaces like hardwood tables or glass.

Always use dice trays or play mats to prevent damage. Even though all our dice sets sound amazing when they are jingled together (seriously…it is magical) it is recommended to handle each die individually, rather than in groups, to maintain their pristine condition.

Proper care of your Ember Dice will ensure that they will last a lifetime, maintaining their beauty and functionality for years to come, until they are presented as cherished heirlooms to the next generation of adventurers.
